This is one of the most heavily used trails in Palo Duro. It's frequented by hikers, bikers, and equestrians. It can get quite crowded on a bluebird weekend. You can take the trail to the end to see the famous Lighthouse hoodoo, or you can use it to hook up with the Givens, Spicer & Lowry Trail and the Little Fox Loop. It is a necessity if you are trying to make a loop.
The trail can get pretty sandy in places and it has a few dry creek crossings that can be tricky when loose. This is a wide singletrack, but I would not call it double. For the most part, this trail is relatively easy and beginner friendly, BUT it does have some sections that might need to be walked for a first-timer.
Trail is geared toward family-type hikes - very open and flat, sandy in parts. Recommend taking your bike somewhere else. MTB alternates exist though!
