Overview

Description

While this is a trail on the National Geographic Trails Illustrated Map #792, the trail has been commandeered by the Forest Service as a logging road. You'll be hard pressed to find blazes and you certainly won't find any singletrack.

You'll however, find great views east out towards the Shenandoah Valley and west up to the North Mountain Trail (1009) located on the top of the ridge. The views are thanks to a large timber sale that was conducted along the trail.

Once you reach the gate at the northern end of the trail and transition onto Forest Road 252, you won't notice much difference in the road surface.
