Description

Loop 2 is a very beginner-friendly trail. It is a fantastic trail to introduce beginners and kids to the sport of mountain biking.

When you ride this trail in the clockwise direction, there is a small dirt jump to start the ride and then an extremely flowy section that weaves you through the trees. This is a favorite section of anyone who frequently rides this park.

Lake Crabtree County Park singletrack is by far the most popular place for beginner riders in the Triangle. Its central location is also great for relieving weekday stress if you work in RTP. The wooded trails connect to Umstead State Park's gravel roads and Cary's Black Creek Greenway.

This trail is super fast and during annual XC races here, winners are averaging nearly 15mph. That said, it is super popular for beginners, and gets more challenging the faster you go.

Navigating the trails is helped by frequent maps posted near intersections.
