Description
Note: Sawmill hiking trail begins at the base of the Snowflake lift, but is no bikes until this point. Take the
Reservoir Trail to go around the ped-only section of Sawmill.
Cross Sawmill Creek northwest of C-Chair and begin a loose, grinding climb up the Sawmill Ski Trail. The climb is not particularly good, but does mellow after about 0.3 miles. About 0.7 miles past C-Chair, the singletrack ends in a short descent to mid-load Super Connect lift terminal and another gravel road intersection.
Sawmill Trail climbs this road to the right to
Four O'Clock Ski Trail. From the ski trail,
Pioneer is not far away on the downhill side of the ski trail.
Alternatively, at the end of the singletrack near the mid-load Super Connect lift terminal, go left continuing along Sawmill Creek passing the
Wanderer trail on the left which can be connected to the base of Peak 9. Or continue further up Sawmill Creek to the
Wanderer trail on the right and connect this up to
Four O'Clock Ski Trail and the latter half of the
Breckenridge Ski Resort loop.
Sawmill Trail also makes a great bailout from the midpoint of the
Breckenridge Ski Resort loop should weather become inclement.
