Description

Park at the Rim Road/Tabaguache Parking area at the rim of Dry Creek Canyon. Go through the gate and down the 4wd road for a few hundred yards. Coyote Cutoff is the singletrack trail on the left, marked by a carsonite sign. The trail starts at a moderate downhill grade on an old doubletrack. The trail soon splits from the old doubletrack becoming pure singletrack for the next mile.

The singletrack then descends several switchbacks. After a short climb, the trail follows the contour line around to the left. Fun, short rocky sections provide a bit of a challenge before the Coyotoe Cutoff Trail abruptly descends straight down the fall line to a 4wd road. This is the end of Coyote Cutoff, but you can go right on the 4wd road to Coyote Ridge for a nice downhill back to the Tabeguache Trail - Dry Creek Section.
