The pass is snow bound until July and fallen trees are usually cut out by mid-July.

Description

The West Fork of Big Smokey goes from Smiley Creek Road to Big Smokey Trail and can be ridden in either direction. The section from Smiley Creek Rd to the pass has seen some recent trail work that makes the trail very swoopy and fast. The builders left a sea of stumps spaced just wide enough to allowed a bike to pass through. From the pass to Big Smokey, the trail is classic singletrack with a fast descent near the top before then mellowing out as it settles into the creek bottom. The end of the trail on Big Smokey is very remote.

Use this trail to create loops and many different ride options.
