Description

Chimney gulch is a steep, but mostly non-technical, trail connecting Golden and the top of Lookout Mountain.

Ridden as an uphill, the 1100 feet of climbing provides a good workout, and is also a good way to access the top of Apex Trail.

Parking is available at the trailhead on the south side of Hwy 6. Alternately, a tunnel under the highway is available a short bit to the west of the trailhead (couple hundred meters or so) if riding to/from across the Hwy.

Really technical climb, but as a solidly intermediate rider, I could clear about 3/4 of the features. Super fun downhill! 2.3mi

This is a good climbing trail with some interesting technical spots. The decent has potential but combined with the loose ground, minimal visiblity, and crowds it's hard to go fast without risking other people. A weekday could change this ride considerably. Too bad there wasn't 10 miles to this trail. Nov 12, 2013
