“A very technical trail that offers some fantastic views.”
— Shane McCreary
This trail departs Headquarters
and travels along a ridge top until its terminus at Blair-Wallis road. Wallis offers some technical rocky descents as well as some very challenging climbs. Not a trail for the inexperienced rider. From Headquarters
, it's a rocky and overgrown descent into a small meadow. After that, test your balance and push your legs to their limits climbing a tough rock covered hill. The rest of the trail is a nice roller coaster (up and down and up and down) following the ridge top. The trail ends with a technical rock garden descent to Blair-Wallis road.
This is a great way to connect to the Vedauwoo area trails, or ride Blair-Wallis to the base of Headquarters
. The trail does not see a lot of use so finding and staying on the trail can be difficult. Bring a map or, better yet, bring the MTB Project mobile app.
There are no trail markings on this trail as it is not recognized by the USFs, but it is maintained by locals.
