Description

Starting off of a tight, Warm Springs Trail switchback, Traverse Trail does literally that - traverse the mountain. The trail starts with a grind of a climb, but it rewards you with awesome views of Sun Valley and the town of Ketchum.

After climbing for quite a ways, you'll come to a 4-way intersection. Stay straight here to continue the climb. Obviously, Traverse Trail is highly exposed as it cuts across many of Sun Valley Resort's ski trails. Finally, after more grinding, you'll start to descend. You can get your speed up incredibly quickly here, but be on the look out for other trail users.

Pass by the intersection with Bald Mountain Trail and stay straight when given an option to go left. After another small climb, you'll descend down to River Run Trail. Look for it on your right.
