Description

This route is traveling south from the trailhead.

Start at the well marked trailhead on Blue Grass Hollow Road. This trail continually climbs for about 4.5 miles up Little Mare mountain. The trail is relatively well marked with blue blazes but is not a frequently traveled route. There are several extremely steep grades near the top of the climb and rock gardens.

The trail ends with a steep descent to the Little Mare Creek and the start of the Brushy Ridge Trail. At the top of this decent there is a trail that splits off to the right... stay left.
