Description

This trail starts at the bottom of Gonzalez Canyon Open Space Trails - Sword Way trail loop. There is a huge tree with an overhanging branch above the trailhead and the trail is designated with a sign, Lagoon Trail.

This trail is tight singletrack through cactus and deep brush with varying elevation changes. It starts with a steep ascent north east and then descends west. At the bottom is a patch of deep sand. From here it ascends through an opening in a fence line and turns into switchbacks. Once at the top there are great views of the Del Mar Raceway and Polo club. Return on the same trail down.
