Description

From the parking lot, immediately start grinding up hot, exposed singletrack. There are lots of switchbacks, but they're easy to negotiate, so put your head down and crank.

Reach a ridge with a commanding vista of the entire valley. Contour around and descend a few hundred feet before hitting Elk Park Road. From here, you can take the road up to Elk Park, or head downhill all the way to Steamboat Springs.
