“A useful section of trail that makes it possible to ride Betasso from town.”— Michael Ahnemann
There's a small parking area just off the Canyon road (119), but it's a better idea to park somewhere near the base of 119 and ride up the bike path.
The trail starts with a difficult climb - it's a granny gear hill with several loose sections. It can be ridden bottom to top, but even the most experienced riders will usually walk at least one part of the climb. There is a major effort to smooth out and improve the stability of the lower section of this trail (May 2013).
After the initial slog, the trail switches back several times and becomes more gradual before it crosses the road and continues up to intersect with the Canyon Loop. On the way back down, it's a fun, fast descent, but be careful on the final section - the loose trail that's difficult to climb can be equally dangerous to descend.
