Getting forecast...

A very good descent that connects to many other trails.

To get here, drive up W Canyon View Dr. on the west side of St. George until it ends and becomes BLM land. You'll drop down from the mesa into the desert where you'll see trails going off in every direction.

As you look west from this point, there is a large gap in the land that rises before you. Stay to the right side of this gap and follow the gravel road up toward a water tank and parking lot. Climb to the parking lot (high clearance vehicles can drive to the lot), continue on to the fence at the top of the climb.

At the fence, lift your bike over the bike gate, and get ready for fun. There are signed easy and difficult routes to get you down the Acid Drops. Make your choice and have fun. Once you are at the bottom of the Acid Drops turn left and let it rip. Downhill traffic has the right-of-way on this trail. There is some two-way traffic so be alert.

Fun trail but far from pristine singletrack that I crave. Apr 22, 2015

The description makes it sound like the acid drops come right after lifting your bike over the gate near the Green Valley Gap and doesn't even mention the mile long wash you ride in. Right after the gate the trail does drop steeply down into the valley, but these aren't the acid drops, this is usually called the "3 fingers of death" or "3 fingers of pop". After that initial drop into the valley, you ride in a wash for about a mile before exiting the wash to the left and riding another few hundred yards to the top of the acid drops. Also, while you should still be alert, the long "BMX" section after the acid drops is designated one-way. The well-signed uphill track is the Bloomington trail which is just south of and parallel to Bearclaw Poppy. Oct 2, 2018
