“A great trail that connects to some of the best trails in the area.”— Brian Smith
This trail begins by following an old road along the creek. It is mostly open with nice views of the open slopes above. The trail goes through a mixture of willows and sections of pine forest as it follows the old road up the drainage. Keep an eye out for the wide variety of songbirds in this area during the summer months.
The trail eventually turns into singletrack as it gently rolls along up the drainage. The trail grade is fairly mellow through this lower section, and the trail basically follows the creek. There are several beaver dams in these areas so keep your eyes out for beavers in the early morning and at dusk.
Game Creek Trail then begins to climb after the junction with the West Game Creek Trail. It climbs up through a mixture of sagebrush and small aspen and pine forest patches until eventually reaching the saddle with the Cache Creek drainage. The wildflowers are stunning in this area during the summer.
From here, the trail descends through thick pine forest down to the Cache Creek Trail.
