Description

Sunshine Trail traverses Sunshine Bowl across the frontside of Mt Werner.

The trail can be ridden is either direction. Riding south to north from the upper end of Duster gives you the longer downhill.

Start climbing from a junction with Pete's Wicked and Duster. The grade is steep but not overly technical. You'll pass under Sunshine lift and then head straight up a ski run.

The trail then turns back to the left and continues climbing. Stop to catch your breath and you'll be able to take in the fantastic views of the ski area from top to bottom.

After Cathy's Cutoff you'll pedal up the final bit of the climb and then begin to descend. The grade is steady and passes through pockets of pine and aspen with open slopes in between. The trail rolls over rooty, rocky drops in the trees but is otherwise smooth and flowing.

The opposite end of Sunshine connects to Chisholm Trail, a mountain service road open to hiking and biking.
