Update

Dirt path following the old railroad route near downtown Aspen.

Mike Pritchard

Overview

Description

This dirt path connects Koch (Volleyball) Park at the western end of Durant Ave to Hopkins Avenue. Hopkins Ave. serves as a signed bike route during warmer months, and connects to the East Marolt bike path and pedestrian bridge over Castle Creek a bit further to the west. Use this path to connect downtown Aspen to bike paths and trails west of town.

This route is a historic railroad alignment from Aspen's long gone mining era. There are a number of historical signs to check out along the path. You'll also find connections to the Little Cloud and Ajax trails along this path.
