Description

Easy riding on a wide, level dirt road probably first used to haul quarried stone to highway 49. After a gradual downgrade from the parking lot, the road winds above the Middle Fork of the American River, providing good scenery and regular foot trail access to beaches on hot summer afternoons. The north facing slope keeps this trail shady for most of the winter, and part of summer days.
