Description

Gravel roads from the end of Chelmsford Road all the way up to the King's Blockhouse.

Turn right from Chelmsford, and then after a short but steep warm-up climb, take the left fork (distance of 200m). This climbs above the old quarry on the left. Stay on the main track and don't take the right hand fork at the small descent (distance of 700m).

Keep going straight at the next fork at the bottom of the descent (distance of 840m). Keep climbing until you get to the next fork (1.7km). Take the right hand fork here (up the hill). Enjoy the views while you're climbing to the next fork (distance of 2.6km). Keep going straight at the fork. Follow the gravel road up for another 900m to get to the cannons at the Blockhouse.

You can climb slightly more to get up to the Blockhouse by following the gravel road.
