Roseburg Forest Products Land (
roseburg.com/Recreation/). Provides controlled public access to its privately-owned Oregon timberlands for recreational purposes. While many timberland owners now charge a fee for recreational access, Roseburg will continue to permit free access through its non-fee controlled public access program, so long as users comply with certain restrictions.
Overview
Amazing views of the South Umpqua, Dillard, Green and Winston, views of Mt. Scott and the Callahans.
Need to Know
Not a lot of parking options on Roberts Mountain Road. There's an unposted barbed wire fence to navigate about 50 ft from the road, and a deep ditch that keeps 4WD vehicles out, but is easy enough to carry a bike over and around.
After that, it's all dirt roads. Fair amount of mud and cow shit to navigate but lots of great grassy cross-country riding possibilities. Poison oak and blackberries.
Description
Nice dirt roads, berms and gulleys, singletrack cow trails and lots of grassy slopes offer loop alternatives.
