Description

This trail rides along the ridge to the north of Huertas Creek, and it will get you from the Chamisa/North Bench saddle down to Huertas Creek Trail.

It's a dirtbike trail once you cross out of the Albuquerque Open Space, and it's just as loose and cobbly as you might expect. It's best used as a descent, however, it is not for the faint of heart. When it points downhill in three distinct sections, it is a fall line straight shot.

The last portion of the descent into Huertas Creek bottom is the worst of the lot. It's too bad that the descents are so steep and silly because the top portion traverses a ridge that is quite narrow and very cool. Please close all gates behind you.
