Chalet Reynard is a ski station with three lift-assisted MTB downhill trails and a bike park, if you arrive with energy to spare.

Description

This is Day 3 of the Grande Traversée de Vaucluse. You can either stay at elevation in Chalet Reynard, or combine this trail with the descending Chalet Reynard to Aurel trail for a longer day. The ride twists up through garrigue scrub and forest until reaching and skirting the lunar alpine zone.

If you wish to visit the actual summit of Mont Ventoux you'll have to build in more time, and ride a lengthy stretch of pavement, since MTB is tightly controlled in the alpine zone to protect the mountain's unique flora and fauna. Turn off on the Piste de la Tête du Chauva to wrap around to the north side of the mountain and meet the paved route to the summit from Malaucène.
