It is listed as Hog Hammock Trail on the available maps, but the trail itself is named the Promontary Trail as indicated on the signage. The trail is an out-and-back and follows atop a gravel levee, bordered by palm trees, and ends at a picnic pavilion. There are a few openings alongside the trail where views of the preserve can be had. There are also a few picnic pavilions along the way.
