Since its creation in 1999, Orbea Monegros has been a test that has gathered more than seventy thousand cyclists, not only because of the difficulty and demand but also because of the Monegros Desert geography. Orbea Monegros is an evolving event which changes with the needs and demands surrounding the corridor.

At the beginning of the most important mountain bike event in Spain, the spirit of adventure begins. So much so that it can be more important to know where you're going than how fast you're riding.

The first edition of Orbea Monegros was held on Saturday, May 5, 2000, in the town of Grañén. During the first editions, the race was open to multiple categories: mountain biking, running, and walking. Thus, this race is considered a pioneer in offering different categories of athletes an array of challenges.
