Please respect those who donated time and/or money to construct this trail and those who continue to maintain this trail—do not ride this trail if leaving tracks in soft soils or muddy soils. This is a high speed downhill mountain bike traffic—not recommended for equestrians. One Way Only: This is designated as a directional trail.

Need to Know

Doing Time Trail #789 ends at the junction with Slammer Trail #765, or you can continue another 0.25 miles to the junction with Mt Emily Road #202, Depends Trail #775 and Zig Zag Trail #777 at Intersection 24. Slammer Trail and Zig Zag Trail tie back together at the MERA Loop Trail #724 at Intersection 4.

No dog water.

Trail signage is very good; all MERA trails are signed with a carsonite post showing trail name, number, rating, and cautions as applicable, e.g., high speed downhill mountain bikes, preferred equestrian route, etc. All main intersections have a unique number, shown on the carsonite post, that corresponds to the MERA map. For additional Information, go to the Mt. Emily Recreation Area website.

Description

Fractured Zone Trail #785 is a very technical, fast, roller coaster ride, downhill trail. It is a very fast singletrack with extensive embedded, fractured rock, steep drop-ins and bowls, banked corners, sweeping drops with large rock obstacles, and jumps—serious mountain bike handling skills are needed.

The trail can be accessed from Doing Time Trail #789. After a slight ascent, you encounter a very steep drop in and banked right hand corner—enjoy the Fractured Zone Trail. At the end of the descent you climb a few hundred feet in about 0.25 miles and rejoin Doing Time Trail #789.
