Sawmill is often not much more than a faint singletrack through the woods. There's just something really cool about following that faint trail—it really makes you feel like you're in the backcountry. There isn't anything extreme on this trail. There are stretches with a lot of rocks, but only a precious few of those rocks are ever very big. Like all the trails in the area, most of the rocks are football-sized or less, and are cinder/volcanic rock.

There is never a very big climb or descent on this trail, but lots of good cruising with twisty-turny singletrack in the forest. It rides equally well in either direction. The trail is well marked with white diamonds on a tree roughly every 100 yards.
