Description

This trail connects the parking lot and a small trailhead on Orchard Park Blvd to the rest of the trail system, via the Orange Trail and Blue Trail.

Starting from the parking lot at the bottom of Orchard park Boulevard, this trail climbs up the hillside and into the park. While the trail itself is not technical, the tread is narrow and the sideslope is rather steep, which can unnerve beginners.

The Purple Trail soon reaches a saddle with a 4-way trail intersection. To the far right is the Blue Trail, which descends to the Fish and Game parking lot. Diagonally across the saddle is the Orange Trail, and the Blue Trail and Purple Trail continue left. Very shortly after the saddle, Purple splits from Blue, switching back to the left and heading slightly downhill.

From here, the trail surfs some beautiful dirt, descends to a short rock section, and climbs out again to Orchard Park Blvd. Purple Trail ends at a small trailhead at the top of the hill. Either exit the park here, or ride Purple back and continue your ride.
