“This is a Mark Twain National Forest trail, which forms a loop off the Glade Top Trail Scenic Byway.
”
The 509 Trail is a doubletrack gravel road which is closed to motorized vehicles. It starts at the beginning of the Glade Top Trail Scenic Byway and there is ample parking at this trailhead. This former county road slowly descends into and crosses West Fork Creek. After the creek crossing, you'll ascend out of the creek to the glade top and follow the ridge north back towards the Glade Top Scenic Byway. This trail ends at the junction with Tennyson Hollow Trail #507, just south of the road.
