Description

The trail starts out as a steep, technical descent into the creek drainage. Much of this part of the trail is eroded and loose with biggish rocks. Eventually, the trail levels out and follows a more gradual course down the Uncompahgre Plateau.

The next section has more flow to it, with a few rougher and slightly technical sections thrown in as you pass through pinion and scrub oak. You'll know you're at the end once you intersect FSR #405.2B.

The trail is best done as a shuttle ride, leaving one car at the bottom of the trail where it meets the road. Leaving a car there rather than where FSR #405.2B meets Uranium Road will avoid grinding up a steep section or two.
