“An intermediate/advanced trail with a nice mix of terrain.
”
Mussie contains the trail section my son and I come to Menomin Park to ride. There is a section we refer to as "the snake", where there is a series of back and forth through a gully that is fun and challenging. The walls are steep enough to require work and skill to make it to the top of the trail on each pass. But you have to earn that bit of fun. This trail heads through dense pine trees, with many ascents and descents.
There are several hairpins that are in softer soil, so keeping momentum while climbing the hill is a bit of a challenge. But that makes the accomplishment even sweeter when getting through the whole trail.
I usually ride this trail in a counter-clockwise direction, and this is usually the final section I ride before heading back to the car for the day.
The northernmost section of this trail abuts to a walking path that crosses the Red Cedar River to connect with Wakanda Park. The interstate is easily visible from this region of the trail.
