You'll first pass in an out of a wide meadow before entering the forest to begin the short climb to the overlook at the far end of the loop. Here there is a bench with a partially obscured overlook of Spring Lake and Palmyra and you can connect with the Connector - South to access the John Muir trails to the south.

There are some tight turns and short, steep climbs in the forest with numerous rocky sections and some roots. Around the 4 mile mark, you'll take a left at the well marked intersection where the Green Loop diverges. From here you've got a difficult half mile climb over a ridge before a well earned quick descent back to the parking lot.
