Family Friendly More capable kids, with good brake control, may enjoy descending or pedaling the upper half; the lower climb may end up being a hike-a-bike.

Description

Rooty starts off of the Hop Connector just a little ways past the cross-walk entrance. Despite the name, the trail is quite smooth and displays very few roots as it twists and winds along the contours of the hill. Sightlines are tight in this lower section, so be aware of descending trail-users.

Where Rooty eventually straightens out, the narrow benching and more open trees combine for a nice elevated quality as the trail travels high above the forest and road below. The narrow singletrack continues to sidehill over some lightly rocky terrain as it heads to the kiosk and intersection with Huff-N-Puff.

On the way down, Rooty picks up the speed that may require some brake grabbing lower down. Look ahead for other trail-users and make sure to yield well.
