Part of the Hampstead Conservation system of trails, Dogwood is a longer section of trail that completes a nice lollipop loop and meets up with a couple other trails along the way.

An intermediate trail with a few more advanced spots, Dogwood has a couple of short, punchy climbs and a couple of slightly technical sections, so keep your wits about you. Dogwood can be accessed at a few points: about halfway up Maple, at the end of the Maple Trail, from a connector that enters from Stage Road, or from the Hickory Trail in two spots.

If you want to make sure you get the whole loop, make sure you don't take any false exits. Starting halfway up the Maple Trail, you would enter in and take a left at the first Y intersection, which will take you up past the end of Maple, where you would stay right. At one point Dogwood almost collapses on itself and there is a point where there is a very short (maybe 10') connector between one part of Dogwood and another. At this point you can either shorten your loop and take the connector to the right, or stay left and get the full loop.

A little bit after this at the top of the hill, you'll encounter the connector from Stage Road; here you'll want to stay to the right. You'll then finish the top part of the loop and meet up with the short connector again, this time staying left. After a bit more trail, the Hickory Trail will come in on the left, twice. Both times, stay to the right, and shortly thereafter Dogwood will run back into itself. Good riding!
