Overview

A technical high alpine loop with great scenery of the surrounding mountains and lakes.

Description

To access this ride, start from Brooklyn Lake. Head west on the Lost Lake Trail #395 until the Gap Lake Trail #108. This portion has fantastic scenery and is extremely technical but does not require much (or any) walking.

From here, ride north on the Gap Lake Trail #108. This portion is, again, very scenic but unfortunately requires quite a bit of walking. Now head south and east on the Sheep Lake Trail #389 until it connects back to Brooklyn Lake.

From here on out, the riding is much easier. To extend the route, link up with the North Fork Trail, Libby Flats Loop, or US-130.

I ride the loop today and conditions were fine. A few down trees that were easy to lift over or get around, minimal mud, no snow. 12mi — 2h 20m

With Ron. Bike packed it. Super beautiful, lots of good riding sections. Camped at Twin lakes. Saw a bear.

Would be better to hike the first 4 to 5 miles without your bike and then head back the way you came. — 3h 15m

Yes, it's technical... but worth it. For those who long for the days of old school, primitive singletrack, this is it. Views, rocks and fun! 11.6mi — 4h 00m
