Description

This trail starts from the upper parking area, less than 2,000 vertical feet from the summit of Abercrombie Mountain. The first 1.2 miles begin as an old road bed that has become essentially singletrack. It is steep here but the tread is fairly smooth so it will be rideable for the more fit.

At about 1.4 miles, the trail comes to a 'T' intersection with North Fork Silver Creek Trail #119. Heading north/northeast (left) from there, the trails grade lets up for a little bit but soon becomes steep again, and the surface becomes more rocky. The scenery will begin to change as you reach the sub-alpine zone; there will be sparse tree cover, open meadows, and wonderful views all around.

The final 3/4 of a mile to the summit will become even steeper and more rocky, which will likely be hike-a-bike for all but the most fit. If you like steep technical riding, you owe it to yourself to hike your bike to the summit for a rewarding descent back down to the junction with North Fork Silver Creek Trail #119.
