Family Friendly Like all of the San Antonio Greenways, this is totally kid and dog friendly.

Description

Drove 4 hours to visit San Antonio trails. The Salado Creek Greenway (North and South) did not disappoint! Truly a nice ride, both trails, on a "warm" day in January. While riding, I observed 2 uniformed police officers and several non-uniformed trail volunteers actively on the trail. The south section was a nice warm up ride for the much longer north trail. The shorter south trail passes several parks, play areas and parking options. Most notable are the excellent permanent trail map kiosks. Very well done, clear, helpful and accurate. I had a very confident sense of my position along the trail. The two trails are not intuitively connected, but I imagine a carefully mapped rider could find a way to get from one to the other. I drove the 7 minutes! The north trail has several nice features, bridges, parks, porta-potties, parking options and a really cool boardwalk section that is nice and long! Loved it. Hopefully the locals understand this amazing community amenity and value/appreciate this beautiful trail. I will be back...numerous times!

I was expecting more dirt not a paved path. I had to be in SA for an appointment and was looking for something fun. Instead just a great workout. 30.7mi — 2h 28m
