Description

This scenic trail begins at the Primrose Campground on the southern end of Kenai Lake and climbs ~1,700 ft to Lost Lake at the base of Mt. Ascension. At this point, the Primrose Trail connects to the USFS Lost Lake Summer Trail which descends to the Bear Creek Trailhead while providing views (on a clear day) of Seward and Resurrection Bay.

I found it pretty technical in the upper half (lots of drop-offs, roots, rocks), but it mellowed out in the last few miles. Glad I went down, not up!
