Description
The Yellow Trail is a nice, fast, flowing trail that winds its way through the pine forests in Withlacoochee State Forest. Most of the trail is somewhat sandy as is to be expected of Florida riding. Because the sand absorbs moisture quickly, the best time to ride is right after a good rain when the trail surface will be tacky instead of sandy.
While grades on this trail are generally gentle, in a few spots you'll encounter gradual climbs or what we call "hill simulators."
This trail is accessed from one of the parking lots that are located at both ends of the trail along Croom Road. The Tucker Hill trailhead is located on the west end and has restrooms and water.
There are lots of deer to be seen during the morning hours and armadillos to be seen if doing a night ride.
