Family Friendly Very flat, with many options to create small loops due to the multi-use path.

Overview

A flat but twisty and fun singletrack blast through some beautiful Florida pine and palm forest. This loop covers some very easy terrain, and this is a great loop for riders looking to gain confidence on the trail. Overall this ride will remind you of Flatwoods, and some of the scrub oak hammocks in Boyette. It's a good ride that will let you go as fast as you want, and the faster the run the more fun it gets!

Need to Know

  • There are many opportunities to shorten this ride by following access roads back to the Starkey Wilderness Bike Path. This includes cutting off at on Powerline Road to avoid the slightly more difficult Twisted Pine trail.
  • It's beneficial to keep an eye out for Markers #9-12 and #15-17, beyond those two sections the navigating is straightforward so you can just continue forwards.

Description

Start at parking lot #10, Marker #0. This is a great, relaxing ride, as there are no surprises on this twisty track that meanders it's way through the forest. The trails make their way through very flat terrain, so great fun can be had by hammering through the endless turns while trying to hold your speed.

This route is a great ride for beginners, since the first trail, Rudy's Ramble intersects several times with a paved multi-use trail up until Marker #1. Once you make it to Deliverance you'll never be far from service roads to the end of the trail at Marker #36. Deliverance is the shortest of the three trails but it flows well with a little variation in the terrain.

The end of Deliverance meets the Powerline Road across from Twisted Pine. This final singletrack trail is noticeably tighter with close pressed trees at times. It's still a great run with good variation in terrain and some false flats that give a little descending and climbing. It's nothing serious, just enough to let you know its there. Twisted Pine feeds back onto Rudy's Ramble at Marker #49, turn to the north to return to the parking area.
