This is the first trail of the new (2015) Ponca Lake trail system and begins just south of the parking area. It's named "Muskrat Maze" because of the rock formations it winds around, and for the local wildlife. There are tight turns around the boulders and over rocky areas as you go.
The trails is only .4 miles, but you can get in a workout because it is mostly slightly uphill. You don't get to do any easy coasting on this one!
The way we normally ride this section is to ride the first two thirds of it, and exit onto the doubletrack heading to the next section, Lizard Lane/ Bobcat Beat, and then riding the lower portions coming back from whichever section you finish on. The trail ends near the parking area.
