Description

This is a one-way ascent from near the bottom of Kissing Booth, back up to Home Brew.

This trail diverges from the Kissing Booth trail roughly 100' from Skyline Parkway (paved road). This climb has a lot of switchbacks which helps level out the relentless grade, but it still contains a few technical rock features and a steep roll-down (yes, a roll-down on your way up!) that make it pretty difficult. The track itself is relatively narrow and raw. It is by no means a wide, machine built, buffed out, pump-your-way-up flow trail and it does not have big bermed turns, so strong pedaling is required most of the way up.

There are several times, roughly half-way up the climb, where the trail edges out of the trees near the steep canyon-like walls of the road cut for Haines Road. Note that from these vantage points, a rider looking north across the highway may catch glimpses of other mountain bikers negotiating Admiral Rockbar and/or Foxx Rocks (two of the trails in the Piedmont system).

If you want to descend Kissing Booth (downhill only), then at the top of this climb go left on Home Brew for roughly 100' before you'll see the signage for Kissing Booth on your left.
