Description

Red Trail is one of the classics in Copper Harbor. It's rowdy and fun with plenty of fast sections and technical challenges.

The trail starts on the level and pedals a bit uphill before the top end series of short gradual downs and ups. From there, Red Trail transitions to a long bit of downhill. As your speed increases, the trail texture and obstacles also change - expect some quicks turns, a few off-camber and crumbly drops and some trees to navigate around.

The upper third ends as you descend a tight switchback into a small narrow passage with steep rocky slopes on either side. Stay left, past the intersection with Dancing Bear, and continue descending through a straight and tight tree corridor.

This ends at a steep and abrupt short climb over a root web to a big tree. From here, the trail throws some increased technical challenges your way. There are more up and downs punctuated by roots rock slabs and a narrow bridge crossing.

After the last root-laden technical descent, the trail rolls past a small wetland and then creeps out past the intersection with Mango to the terminus at Manganese Road.
