The trail is on a ridge of sagebrush and has lot of rock formations with a spectacular view of the distant mountain peaks in the Lost River Mountain Range. The rock formations are very colorful and rock hounds will be interested to note that agate is known to be scattered in various locations along the trail. The trail starts at Dry Creek and climbs up into the lakes basin. There are beavers along the lower portion of the trail, as well as elk, and deer. The climb is steep to the lakes. Once at the lakes you'll follow the ridgeline down through mostly open country.
This trail has seen extensive work down by the forest service recently and some re-routes have been done to avoid wet areas in the bottom and fall line sections, so be aware that the trail may not follow exactly where it has been GPSed.
