Description

Tortoise Trail is a mellow, beginner-friendly trail that rolls smoothly through Chicopee Woods. This is a great option for beginning riders to put rubber to dirt. It is mapped here in a counter clockwise fashion but, as stated above, that changes daily.

Assuming that you are riding CCW, the first junction is with the gravel service road. Continue diagonally across the service road and down Tortoise Trail, which is well marked. Shortly after crossing the road, keep left to stay on Tortoise Trail at a junction with White Tail Trail. Loop around, cross the road again and keep right to stay on Tortoise Trail once more.

Finally, the trail spits you out at the trailhead right where you started. If the direction is opposite, follow these directions in reverse.
