Description

The Bridge Loop consists of 2 adjoined loops. The county map refers to these as red (to the west) and yellow (to the east). They are each about 1/2 mile in length. You can access the trailhead by entering the doubletrack trail (referred to by the county as the Green Trail) next to the amphitheater located down the hill from the restrooms.

Take the first left off the Green Trail and onto a narrow walking bridge with hand rails, or by riding 50 yards down the trail and taking the second left, crossing the wide bridge. The Parks folks prefer bikers take the wide bridge.

After crossing the bridge briefly climb a gentle but rooted trail. From there, just follow the trail until you cross the creek. The creek is typically not more than 6 inches deep and only about 2 feet wide. After the creek you can go straight and complete the eastern (yellow) loop or turn left and add on the western (red) loop making the trail a full mile long. If you chose to go straight you'll meet up with the end of the western (red) loop in about 30 feet. Stay right unless you want to do the western (red) loop in a counter-clockwise direction and end up back at the creek crossing.

Whether you do one or both of the loops the trail will dump you back on the Green Trail you tuned off of to get on the Bridge Loop. From here you can turn left on to Squirrel Terrace or the Green Trail, which heads back towards the rest rooms.

Squirrel Terrace is an intermediate trail about a 1.5 miles long. Left onto the Green Trail will lead you to a 4-way intersection with more options to explore.
