Description

The Blue loop is in the Malabar Scrub West area. It is generally ridden clockwise and that is how the arrows are marked but be on the lookout in case anyone rides it counter clockwise. The trail is marked with blue paint on posts in the ground.

The trail is reached from the Malabar Scrub Red loop by heading right onto the Malabar Scrub West - Red to Blue Connector when you see a blue post for the connector trail.

This trail description assumes you are at the beginning of the loop just after the connector trail. Head south on a very fast straightaway. When you reach the end of the straight the trail bends right along a short rooty section, it crosses a dirt road, then the trail goes right over a short bridge over a creek. Heading onward, this section is occasionally wet during the rainy season so there is a bypass. The next mile is how the nickname "root Loop" came about. There are many palmetto roots and plenty of twists in the trail to test your skills and two other short bridges for other creek crossings.

This trail is generally in good shape during most of the year but a few sections can get sandy during the dry season and another 2 sections can get a little swampy in the rainy season if the area gets a tremendous amount of rain. It is generally a great trail year round.

When you finish the loop, you'll pass a kiosk with a trail map for the trail system and you'll be able to continue on to the Malabar Scrub West - Blue to Red Connector which is rooty at the beginning but the end has an awesome 100ft long elevated wooden trail over a wide creek.
