Need to Know

If you plan on riding down to Dowdy Lake and connecting back to the trailhead via Dowdy Lane off Dowdy Lake Trail, Dowdy Lane is private and marked with signage about being monitored. You'll need to backtrack up Dowdy Lake Rd or ride out and down main road.

Description

Start at the Mount Margaret trailhead and proceed through the gate. Continue along windy singletrack, cross the North Fork of Lone Pine Creek, and proceed along doubletrack. There are several turn offs to different trails which are great to explore even though this trail is an out and back.

Proceed through three different trail junctions following the Mount Margaret signs. You'll soon reach the end of the trail. You can ditch your bike and scramble around the rocky knoll that is Mount Margaret. When you are ready, turn around and return to the trailhead

The trail was mostly dry with a few sections of snow and sand. Not too busy. Overall a nice trail and great ride in December!
