Description
Lower Burner is the portion of the Stovetop Loop south of the power lines. This portion of Lower Burner is also a part of the Duluth Traverse, so it is characteristically different from the rest of the loop. This section is an easier beginner-level loop across mainly flat terrain. You'll ride through lush deciduous woods, over wide bridges at stream crossings, and on a little bit of smooth bedrock. Compared to the rest of the trail system, Lower Burner is relatively flat as it generally traverses the fall line. This loop provides access from the Haines Road parking lot to the entire Piedmont system.
Moderately steep. Uneven terrain with small rocks or roots.
Sizable rocks & roots. Steep sections.
Steep. Some technical terrain and limited alternate lines.
