The snow usually sticks around until late April.

Description

The Mt. Ashland Fire Road begins at the aki area parking lot adjacent to the lodge. The first mile and a half is fast, smooth, and makees for a great warm-up for all the other trails on the lower portion of the mountain.

As you ride past the lodge the road gets steeper and a little narrower. Challenge yourself and try not to use your brakes.

The next section is narrower, steeper, and rockier than the previous section. It gradually traverses across the slope, exposing riders to beautiful forest and valley views.

The fire road section ends once you approach the Bull Gap trailhead parking lot. You can either continue on the fire road or ride Bull Gap.
