Overview
Cameron Park is a municipal park located at the confluence of the Brazos and Bosque Rivers near downtown Waco, Texas. It is a network of trails that runs along the river right in the center of Waco.
Description
There is no established loop at Cameron. The trails are bi-directional, and you can enter the network from just about every parking area in the park. There are 15 miles of trails to explore and is a designated National Recreation Trail.
The trails primary surface consists of compacted soil. More than 150 directional signs designate trail names and are coded with level of difficulty (green, blue, black) just like a ski resort. Several map kiosks are located throughout the park, but there are many trails that break off of the main ones and you can get turned around quickly if you're not paying attention. There is a trail here for every level of rider.
Going with a local for the first time would be recommended. Some segments can be short and you find yourself stopping to figure where you are, where you need to go and that hurts the flow of the ride.
